The Daily Stoic, founded by author Ryan Holiday, needed a way to build a direct, scalable relationship with readers through a daily newsletter while segmenting onboarding and monetizing without sacrificing engagement. To centralize that strategy Holiday turned to ConvertKit, using its email platform, landing pages and automation tools to support a daily cadence, targeted welcome flows, and a paid newsletter tier.
ConvertKit implemented visual automations, tagging/segmentation, scheduling and ConvertKit Commerce so Daily Stoic could deliver personalized welcome sequences, free and paid daily emails, and conversion-optimized landing pages. The results: the list grew to about 320,000 subscribers (over 50% growth in the last year), Holiday has sent 2,000+ emails reaching ~160 million people, maintained ~40% open and ~3% click rates, and drove nearly 10,000 first-day clicks on a book pre-order—demonstrating ConvertKit’s measurable impact on growth and monetization.
