The London borough councils of Hillingdon and Croydon faced the challenge of frequent surface water flooding. To improve their community's resilience, they needed to better understand water movement, share data securely across departments, and find a solution to monitor issues and verify the effectiveness of their sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). They partnered with KISTERS to address these challenges.

KISTERS implemented its datasphere platform to create an online hub for data sharing and visualization, along with HyQuest Solutions sensors installed at key flood-risk locations. The solution provided real-time monitoring and automated alarms, which immediately identified how quickly flood conditions could develop. KISTERS further deployed its HydroMaster solution to integrate highly reliable, localized weather forecasts, enabling more accurate and timely warnings of heavy rain. This empowered the boroughs to take proactive action, enhance their climate resilience, and make more informed environmental decisions.
