Uniper, a major energy company, faced the challenge of renewing its mission-critical, around-the-clock systems for power plant portfolio optimization and control. To maintain grid stability and market success, they needed a highly available and secure real-time dispatching system to automate time-critical processes and provide balancing energy. KISTERS implemented a fully redundant IT infrastructure and its ControlStar dispatching system, which included SCADA functionalities for controlling power plants and providing secondary and minute reserve power. The solution also integrated the KiBiD Big Data tool for long-term archiving and evaluation.
