Volta Labs is an East Coast innovation hub in downtown Halifax that supports more than 450 members across 40+ resident startups and runs over 200 events a year. Their operations team faced friction from physical key cards and a lack of flexibility when managing different companies’ access schedules—some tenants needed doors open 8am–5pm, others 9am–9pm—making administration cumbersome.

Kisi provided a smartphone-based access control system and an admin dashboard that lets Volta Labs set and change company-specific access times easily. By switching to Kisi, Volta Labs eliminated much of the reliance on keys and badges, gave founders phone-based entry, streamlined administration for dozens of startups, and reports very few access issues since deployment.
