Carris Reels - Customer Case Study

Carris Reels, a 100% employee‑owned U.S. manufacturer of softwood, nailed wood, and plastic reels with 21 locations and 750 employees, faced insecure, key‑based access and uncertainty about whether doors were closed or locked. After piloting Kisi’s cloud access control solution, they selected Kisi to replace keys, improve credential management for workers without smartphones or company emails, and simplify temporary-employee access.

Kisi deployed cloud access across offices, manufacturing and warehousing to keep doors locked at all times, enable shift‑based entry for factory workers, provision and automatically revoke temporary credentials, and issue tracked visitor badges. The system—installed locally with minimal training—now secures 21 locations and 750 employees, improved visitor tracking and operational flow, and integrates with Ring/Philips Hue for noisy environments; Carris plans further automation using Kisi with Azure AD and API integrations.
