A Kira Talent Case Study
The University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) needed a better way to identify applicants who would succeed in its program while reducing the cost and logistics of its former in-person written assessment. Working with Kira Talent, SAF sought a more holistic admissions approach that could evaluate communication skills and problem-solving ability more fairly and efficiently.
Kira Talent implemented an asynchronous assessment with video and written responses, supported by Kira Talent Reviewer Services for multi-reviewer scoring and bias mitigation. The result was a more equitable, robust admissions process that preserved valuable applicant insights while reducing internal workload, freeing staff to create more applicant touchpoints. SAF says this has helped them enroll stronger communicators and problem solvers, and the improved process has impressed faculty and strengthened outcomes for students and co-op employers.
