Case Study: University of Nebraska Medical Center achieves flexible, consistent admissions and increased applicant yield with Kira Talent

UNMC finds the flexibility they need and an applicant yield they love

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions (UNMC CAHP) — representing 12 programs, 15+ health professions and 30+ academic tracks — needed a consistent admissions process that still let each program assess applicants in its own way. They engaged Kira Talent and its asynchronous video and written assessment platform (Kira assessments) to replace and augment traditional interviews while maintaining shared standards across programs.

Kira Talent worked with UNMC to create a customizable “Kira menu” of question types, standardized rubrics, and Flexible Review options so each program could choose question banks, custom prompts, scoring styles, and timing. The result: increased interview attendance, fewer no‑shows, higher applicant yield, and more admitted students accepting and remaining in their offers—outcomes UNMC attributes to Kira Talent’s flexible, consistent, and more engaging assessment experience.
