A Kira Talent Case Study
Rotman Commerce, a program at the University of Toronto, faced the challenge of assessing soft skills across over 8,000 high-achieving applicants annually while guarding its admissions process against bias, plagiarism, and generative AI. To help distinguish between these applicants, they partnered with Kira Talent to implement a structured holistic review.
Kira Talent provided an Asynchronous Assessment platform, integrating SimCheck by Turnitin for plagiarism and AI detection. This solution allowed Rotman Commerce to efficiently complete a holistic review of all applicants, automatically flag inauthentic submissions, and ensure reviewers could assess candidates consistently using a defined rubric. The process strengthened the equity and integrity of admissions, ensuring offers were made to deserving students who submitted their own work.
