A Kira Talent Case Study
Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, which receives about 1,600 applications annually for just 84 DVM seats, needed to preserve a rigorous, equitable way to assess applicants’ soft skills when on‑campus interviews became infeasible. To maintain the integrity and accessibility of their admissions process, the college partnered with Kira Talent to replicate interviews virtually and standardize evaluations.
Kira Talent delivered a single platform for recorded interviews, structured rubrics, reviewer assignment, and inter‑rater reliability reporting, replacing manual scheduling and ad‑hoc scoring. The change allowed reviewers to complete evaluations on their own schedules, reduced reviewer fatigue, improved scoring consistency and equity, and cut applicant travel and lodging costs — enabling Purdue to reliably evaluate ~1,600 applicants for 84 seats while increasing reviewer engagement and using data from Kira Talent to refine training and competencies.
