How NC State College of Veterinary Medicine streamlined their admissions process with Kira, for a more inclusive and consistent evaluation of applicants

NC State College of Veterinary Medicine needed a way to reintroduce interview-style assessments into admissions without sacrificing efficiency or fairness at scale. By working with Kira Talent and its Asynchronous Assessment product, the college found a more flexible way to evaluate applicants while supporting a more diverse group of faculty, staff, and practicing DVM reviewers.

Kira Talent implemented Horizontal Review, defined rubrics, competency descriptions, and inter-rater reliability metrics to strengthen consistency and reduce bias in scoring. The result was a more reliable holistic admissions process, with about 85% of reviewer scores landing within three points of each other, giving NC State College of Veterinary Medicine greater confidence in applicant evaluations and final decisions.
