CSU Fullerton prioritizes diversity and improves efficiency along the way

CSU Fullerton faced a need to redevelop its admissions process to make it more holistic and equitable, moving beyond GPA and test-score cutoffs that disadvantage students from underfunded schools. To add a standardized interview component and reach a wider applicant pool, CSU Fullerton turned to Kira Talent’s online video assessment/interview platform.

Kira Talent enabled pre-recorded welcome videos, faculty-question recordings, and virtual interviews that removed travel and scheduling barriers, let applicants demonstrate soft skills, and allowed staff to evaluate more candidates in less time. As a result, CSU Fullerton engaged a more diverse applicant pool and has enrolled its most diverse class to date, while improving efficiency and reducing reliance on grades and test scores.
