A Kira Talent Case Study

Preview of the University of Connecticut School of Business Case Study

Building a dynamic MBA cohort amidst a global pandemic

The University of Connecticut School of Business, led in admissions by Moira Rosek, faced the challenge of building a small, highly personalized 45–50 person full-time MBA cohort while managing time-consuming global interviews and—starting in Spring 2020—the sudden disruption of COVID-19. To keep admissions personal and practical for real-world preparation, the school had already adopted Kira Talent’s online admissions assessment to move interviews online and streamline evaluation.

Kira Talent’s platform allowed UConn to maintain “business as usual” through the pandemic, freeing staff from back-to-back video interviews so they could focus on strategic work and applicant support. The vendor’s assessment preserved the program’s experiential focus, coincided with a surge in interest (quadrupled online event attendance) and a strong rise in applications, and delivered the efficiency and normality the School of Business needed.
