Berklee College of Music expands their review team to yield stronger applicants

Berklee College of Music needed a way to manage more than 10,000 auditions and interviews each year while improving the quality and consistency of admissions decisions. After merging with the Boston Conservatory and expanding its global applicant pool, Berklee turned to Kira Talent to support interviews for two master’s programs and two undergraduate programs, which represent about 40% of its applications.

Kira Talent implemented its Asynchronous Assessment and Reviewer Services to help Berklee conduct more than 4,000 interviews efficiently and on a five-day turnaround. The result was a faster, more consistent review process that reduced travel and cost barriers for applicants, while giving Berklee the additional data it needed for final holistic decisions. Berklee also reported that Kira’s reviewer training produced evaluations that closely matched its rubric, improving accuracy and scalability.
