A Kira Talent Case Study
Washington State University College of Nursing needed a more accessible and flexible admissions process that could better serve out-of-state applicants, working parents, and other candidates for whom in-person interviews were a barrier. The college also wanted to evaluate applicants more holistically while staying true to its mission of serving diverse communities across Washington State. It turned to Kira Talent and its admissions interview platform to help remove geographic and logistical constraints.
With Kira Talent, Washington State University College of Nursing moved interviews online so applicants could complete them when and where it worked best for them, with practice time to build confidence. The new process reduced scheduling burden, supported a more holistic review structure, and helped increase cohort diversity, including more students from rural backgrounds, first-generation students, multilingual applicants, and underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. Reviewer and applicant satisfaction was strong, with applicant ratings reported in the 4.5 to 4.9 range, and Kira Talent’s customization and bulk-assignment tools further improved efficiency.
