Shiseido, a global skincare company selling in more than 120 countries, was struggling with aging IBM Notes systems (limited engineer support), no English UI as it globalized, and a brittle process of tracking research projects across multiple Excel files. To address these issues Shiseido turned to Kintone, using the Kintone platform (with partner M‑SOLUTIONS’ automatic migration tool) and integrating with Box for storage.
Kintone migrated data from IBM Notes, replaced the Excel-based tracking with centralized Kintone apps, and integrated with Box, delivering a working system in just three months. The Kintone implementation eliminated the more-than-30-hour manual Excel consolidation (now zero hours), improved change history visibility, accelerated agile development, and enabled further third‑party integrations for ongoing efficiency gains.
