A Kineo Case Study

Preview of the McDonald’s Case Study

Using rapid elearning to improve profitability, safety, and customer care in restaurants – saving over £5 million on the way

Kineo, a City & Guilds Group business, partnered with McDonald's to tackle the costly, time-consuming face‑to‑face financial skills training delivered annually across more than 1,250 restaurants. The challenge was to give busy restaurant managers timely, relevant training that balanced costs, sales, quality and profit without the expense and logistical burden of traditional classroom sessions.

Kineo developed a rapid elearning prototype using Articulate and built a blended, brand‑led program that McDonald’s staff could maintain and extend themselves. The approach saved over £1m in year one and more than £5m in two years by removing third‑party trainers, while driving a 10% sales increase, higher food profitability, improved hygiene standards and stronger employee engagement.
