Preview of the Health Promotion Agency Case Study

Health Promotion Agency trains 3,677 users with Kineo

The Health Promotion Agency, a New Zealand government body, faced the challenge of training approximately 100,000 alcohol servers and sellers on new legislation. Existing training was costly, inaccessible, and failed to motivate learners. Partnering with Kineo, the agency sought to create a bespoke, engaging solution that would make the technical content interesting and relevant for a wide demographic working in on-the-go environments.

Kineo developed a bespoke, game-based elearning solution deployed via a Totara Learn platform. This innovative tool used personalized avatars and realistic branched scenarios to let learners practice making decisions in a safe environment. The solution was highly successful, registering 3,677 users in its first year with 1,381 completions. It was embraced by the industry, leading to improved legal compliance and adoption by major companies like Progressive Enterprises for 4,000 employees.
