A Kineo Case Study
City & Guilds Kineo worked with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to deliver Disability Matters, a free, accessible suite of short online sessions supporting people who work with disabled children and young people. The challenge was to organise bite-sized modules into tailored Learning Packages while serving two distinct audiences: anonymous visitors who needed casual, one-off browsing and professionals who required accounts to track progress, save learning and print certificates.
Kineo implemented a custom Totara LMS solution that kept content identical for guests and registered users but personalised the experience for account holders by asking industry and job details and showing recommended Learning Packages. Built with standard Totara features (audiences, courses, learning plans, programmes), the portal launched in February 2015, won an RCPCH innovation award, and has since attracted about 3,000 registered users, nearly 2,500 session completions, ~13,000 unique visitors in nine months and engagement from 18 partner organisations.
