Case Study: BUSY At Work achieves live ePortfolios and seamless employer connections with Kineo's Moodle–Mahara solution

Creating a seamless experience for apprentices and employers by integrating a Learning Management System with an ePortfolio

BUSY At Work is a not-for-profit apprenticeship and employment services provider operating across Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia with nearly 230 staff and 33 offices. They needed a way for jobseekers to create rich, searchable online profiles and resumes so employers could better assess candidates’ skills and readiness to work, while also providing training access for people in regional and Indigenous communities.

Kineo implemented a Moodle LMS integrated with Mahara ePortfolio (single sign‑on and automatic learning-to-portfolio sync), enabling users to upload certificates, videos and work evidence, form social groups, and build “live” resumes employers can view. Early results show about 200 active users, positive feedback on uploading and access, growing engagement with portfolios and courses, improved rural access via community libraries, and promising employer visibility and recruitment opportunities.
