BurgerFuel, a gourmet burger franchise with over 600 staff across New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and the US, needed a way to identify high‑potential applicants and reliably onboard new hires after rapid expansion. They required short, online induction experiences (covering fire safety, food temperature, manual handling, robbery prevention, working safely and menu mechanics) that could be delivered via their website or LMS before staff started their first shifts.
Partnering with Kineo, BurgerFuel launched six 10–15 minute SCORM 1.2 gamified Adapt HTML5 modules — mobile‑first, multi‑device, tattoo‑style artwork, character selection and animated scenarios — organized into “Get the lowdown,” “Ask the team,” and “Take the challenge.” The program produced strong franchisee feedback and more consistent training and service across stores, and drove measurable results (a thickshake marketing push coincided with a 25% sales lift over four weeks and only 0.4% refunds). The company is now preparing to roll the modules out globally.
