A Kineo Case Study
BMI Healthcare partnered with City & Guilds Kineo and Totara LMS to fix inefficiencies in mandatory training assignment and tracking. Previously mandatory learning was allocated by job description rather than actual roles and responsibilities, interpreted inconsistently by site, and compliance audits were produced manually, making it hard to focus learning and measure compliance.
Kineo developed BMILearn functionality in Totara: a mandatory training matrix, role-based personal profiles that auto-populate learning plans, anniversary-date renewals, and reduced frequency for some courses. The changes saved the equivalent of 31 FTE (~£800k), enabled real-time CQC reporting by business/region/hospital/department/individual, and lifted compliance from an average of 40% to 60%—paying for themselves in year one and freeing substantial frontline and admin time.
