A Kindsight Case Study
American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) wanted a better way to prioritize its large foundation prospect database and uncover institutional funders already in its system. The nonprofit, which focuses on major gift fundraising, had been manually researching prospects and lacked a clear system for identifying which foundations were the best fit for its mission.
AFHU worked with Kindsight using iWave within Kindsight’s Fundraising Platform, along with support from Aspire Research Group and Think And Ink Grants, to screen its database and combine internal giving history with external data. The result was highly actionable segmentation: 49% of foundation prospects were identified as “Hidden Gems,” 14% as “Distinguished Philanthropists,” and 31% scored a 4 for giving potential, helping AFHU focus its outreach on the strongest opportunities and better steward existing donors.
