A Kindsight Case Study
The Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association (WFAA) faced a significant challenge in its transition to new data systems, as its staff had become overly dependent on a central Business Intelligence team for reports. This reliance led to slow adoption of new tools, low data literacy, and a bottleneck in ad-hoc request fulfillment, hindering the organization's data-driven strategy.
To address this, Kindsight implemented a Communities of Practice initiative. This solution involved training and empowering power users across different departments to handle their own reporting needs, thereby scaling data literacy and fostering peer collaboration. The measurable results for WFAA included a 170% year-over-year increase in report requests handled by development power users, a significant reduction in BI team tickets, and over 60 staff upskilled, allowing the central BI team to refocus on strategic insights.
