A Kindful Case Study

How Kindful Helped The Nashville Food Project Get Off Spreadsheets

The Nashville Food Project is a Nashville-based nonprofit that grows, recovers, cooks and distributes meals while partnering with other groups to address root causes of food insecurity. When COO Teri Sloan arrived she inherited a system built entirely on spreadsheets and past attempts at more complex CRMs hadn’t stuck—TNFP needed a simple, easy-to-train solution that staff could use without heavy setup or support.

Kindful replaced the spreadsheet system and integrated with Mailchimp and Eventbrite to automate volunteer and event attendee records, reduce manual work, and streamline fundraising outreach. The platform’s simplicity allowed one- to two-hour trainings, freed staff to focus on mission work, and scaled through the 2020 surge—helping TNFP manage 800–900 first-time donors and improve engagement without added overhead.
