NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest mobile service provider with over 60 million customers, was planning its i-mode revolution and wanted to turn the mobile phone from a voice device into a lifestyle tool. A digital butler service called i-concier played a central role, with a need for secure personal data backup and reliable information delivery to millions of subscribers.

Kii provided core mobile backend technology for i-concier, including backup of mobile PIM information such as contacts, calendar, and memos. Kii Cloud also enabled NTT Docomo’s Photo Collection service, supporting data sync, large traffic transfers, and features such as automatic backup of pictures and videos, facial and scene recognition, multi-device sharing, and panoramic photo animation for tens of millions of customers.
