Preview of the Hamilton County Schools Case Study

How Ooltewah Elementary Improved Their Benchmark ELA Score by Up To 15.9%

Hamilton County Schools’ Ooltewah Elementary needed a more rigorous, consistent way to teach ELA after benchmark data showed many students were not proficient and the shift to COVID-era virtual learning disrupted instruction. The school adopted EL Education and began looking for a digital way to keep lessons accessible and consistent for both in-person and remote students, ultimately using Kiddom to support implementation.

With Kiddom, Ooltewah Elementary was able to deliver EL Education digitally, standardize lesson slides, and improve collaboration across grade-level teachers. The school reported 100% implementation within its target timeline and achieved up to 15.9% growth in ELA benchmark results, with virtual teachers scoring on par with or above face-to-face classes. Kiddom helped Hamilton County Schools maintain instructional rigor during quarantine disruptions and reduce variability across classrooms.
