Fontana Unified School District partnered with KickUp as COVID-19 forced the district to accelerate its 1:1 technology rollout and shift quickly to distance learning. With more than 1,600 educators needing support, the district needed a clear way to understand teacher readiness and design professional development that would help teachers and students adapt to the new digital environment.

Using KickUp’s educator check-in tool, Fontana Unified gathered needs-assessment data and open-response feedback from its educators to guide PD planning and support strategies. The results showed high teacher satisfaction with the transition, strong value placed on collaboration and administrative support, and clear patterns in tech support needs. With KickUp, the district can now target school-level PD, train teachers-on-assignment on common issues, and help instructional technology specialists focus on higher-level support for digital curriculum and diverse learners.
