A KickUp Case Study
Belton School District, a suburban public district south of Kansas City serving about 4,400 students, needed a better way to track progress across its updated five-year strategic plan. The district wanted specific, measurable metrics to keep a pulse on improvement, inform the school board, and focus support around technology integration, literacy, and college-and-career-ready learning. Using KickUp, Belton’s central office team gained a clearer view of district-wide activity and school improvement needs.
KickUp worked with Belton to break each strategic pillar into leading indicators and build a system that consolidated data from teacher needs assessments, classroom walkthroughs, peer observations, feedback, and surveys. With KickUp’s filtering and analysis tools, the district could make real-time decisions and adjust professional learning more strategically. The results included over 15% district-wide annual progress growth, a 22-point increase in teachers observed as effective or highly effective in core instructional practices, and a rise in strategic plan-aligned instructional practices from 70.7% to 90% in 2019.
