Successfully using data driven practices to support the whole child in Florida schools

The SEED School of Miami, the only public, tuition-free college-prep boarding school in South Florida, needed a way to measure and manage students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth across the whole school. Although SEED Miami had a strong social skills curriculum and positive behavior system, they lacked a central, real-time tool to record, analyze, and share behavior data—so they adopted Kickboard to provide that centralized measurement and support.

Kickboard provided a customizable platform, a School Culture Coach, and family portal features that allowed teachers to log behaviors, run character reports, issue weekly “paychecks,” and align points to core values. Using Kickboard, SEED Miami can compare referrals year-over-year, monitor progress toward a 4:1 positive-to-corrective interaction goal, target coaching and professional development, and give students and parents transparent, actionable data—resulting in clearer incentives, improved communication, and data-driven coaching across the school.
