Quillin Leather and Tack, Kentucky’s largest custom leather shop (producing and shipping over 17,000 handmade halters a year), needed to speed retail transactions and end-of-day reporting, and to automate sales flows from all channels into manufacturing, shipping and accounting. They also wanted an integrated UPS shipping solution after a failed attempt with another vendor. KiBiz Systems was engaged to provide a FileMaker Pro–based KiBiz System including the KiPoint POS, Purchasing Module and a UPS Shipping Module.

KiBiz Systems customized and installed the KiBiz System so in-store sales are entered once via KiPoint, inventory and accounting update automatically, and end-of-day reports are immediate. The Purchasing Module consolidates orders and generates internal production “purchase orders” to Quillin’s six production departments, while the UPS Shipping Module (built with NRG Software) generates shipping labels at order processing so labels arrive with the carton—cutting shipping-room time in half. Quillin reports a 10–15% overall efficiency gain and faster throughput, and Ralph Quillin strongly endorses KiBiz Systems.
