Equiparts Modernized their Legacy Business System and Outdated Website with KiBiz and KiBiz eCommerce

Equiparts, a Pittsburgh-based supplier of plumbing and mechanical replacement parts, faced a legacy in-house business system that could no longer run on newer Mac hardware and an outdated website hindering e-commerce. Kim Coles researched FileMaker-based options and, after seeing a demo, Equiparts selected KiBiz from KiBiz Systems—implementing KiBiz and KiBiz eCommerce for an initial 25 users to replace and modernize their business system.

KiBiz Systems customized KiBiz (integrated with X-Cart) and redesigned Equiparts’ website to support tens of thousands of SKUs with up to five category levels and manufacturer filtering. KiBiz enabled automated product and inventory uploads, and customer quote requests and orders flowed directly into KiBiz, greatly streamlining order fulfillment; Equiparts subsequently added KiBiz Production Management and KiPoint for manufacturing and retail POS needs. The result was a modern, scalable system with improved e‑commerce presence, faster sales processing, and responsive vendor support from KiBiz Systems.
