Case Study: IceRobotics achieves scalable, world-class CowAlert IoT cattle monitoring for global deployment with Keytree

A Keytree Case Study

Preview of the IceRobotics Case Study

UK Government invests in the development of IceRobotics’ cattle monitoring technology: an Internet-of-Things case study

IceRobotics, a world-leading developer of IoT data collection and analysis for dairy cow behaviour, needed to scale its CowAlert™ monitoring system from farm-level deployments to support hundreds of thousands — potentially millions — of animals. Innovate UK invested in a consortium led by IceRobotics with Keytree as the primary development partner to deliver a more scalable sensor-to-cloud architecture and commercial-ready service.

Keytree implemented a load‑balanced, 24/7 cloud and local database architecture, integrating sensor data, SMS alerts and web/mobile access so farmers and vets can receive realtime fertility and health analytics. As a result, Keytree enabled CowAlert™ to become a world-class, commercially deployable system that improves conception rates, enables earlier detection of health issues, reduces costs for farmers, and is now positioned to expand beyond the UK into Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
