DMG Media, a leading UK multi-channel consumer media company behind brands such as the Daily Mail and MailOnline, struggled with slow, error-prone manual testing of its MailPlus tablet app across multiple devices and OS variants. To address long test cycles and reduced test scope, DMG Media selected Keysight’s Eggplant suite—primarily Eggplant Functional (having already used Eggplant Performance)—to automate cross‑platform functional and performance testing.
Keysight implemented Eggplant Functional’s image‑based GUI testing with SenseTalk scripting and native device testing via eggOn, enabling a “script once” approach across devices. After two days of training and about a month of scripting, DMG Media saw measurable gains: test cycles dropped dramatically (for example, TV Listings testing fell from four days to one—a 75% reduction), app quality improved, test coverage expanded, and the team accelerated plans to scale automation and integrate daily CI regression testing.
