Service Provider Strengthens Defense Against Cyberattacks

High-Profile Internet Service Provider, facing extraordinary traffic volumes and daily cyberattacks, needed real-time threat inspection without adding latency, while controlling capital and operating costs and minimizing IT management effort. The provider engaged Keysight, deploying Ixia solutions—specifically Ixia iBypass switches and the Ixia Network Tool Optimizer (NTO)—to strengthen inline IPS traffic inspection and preserve existing security investments.

Keysight implemented external iBypass switches in front of each IPS to protect network availability and allow safe device troubleshooting, and used the Ixia NTO packet broker to aggregate, intelligently filter, and deliver only relevant traffic to security appliances with minimal latency. As a result, network availability is protected, IPS workload and unproductive processing are reduced, lower-speed tools remain usable on higher-speed links (delaying costly upgrades), and overall management of the large network is simplified—improving efficiency and preserving budget.
