BeFC, an innovator of bio‑enzymatic fuel cells, needed to scale R&D and kick‑start industrial development of its paper biofuel cells. The company required industry‑class benchtop tools for high time‑base, low‑power measurements and a cost‑effective multichannel system for electrochemical testing, so it partnered with Keysight and drew on instruments such as PXIe SMUs, the MXR054A oscilloscope and the N6705C DC power analyzer.

Keysight delivered a multi‑instrument solution—notably the M9614A PXIe five‑channel SMU with an M9005A PXIe chassis (providing 25 independent channels), alongside oscilloscopes and precision source/measure units—to enable parallel, high‑throughput electrochemical testing. The Keysight solution quadrupled BeFC’s test throughput, enabled independent multi‑DUT triggering, accelerated prototyping and industrialization, and helped the company win global awards and industry recognition.
