Mexican Mining Giant Gains Full Visibility into OT Infrastructure

Mexican Mining Giant, a large operator with more than twenty mining, metallurgical and chemical plants across Mexico, faced growing OT security blind spots: legacy switches couldn’t mirror traffic and their OT sensors lacked enough ports to ingest all mirrored/tapped traffic. They engaged Keysight to provide a comprehensive visibility solution using optical TAPs (Flex TAPs) and Vision packet brokers (Vision T1000 for sub‑1G and Vision E40 for 1G/10G/40G) to ensure complete traffic capture for their OT security tools.

Keysight deployed Flex TAPs at optical links and Vision T1000 and E40 network packet brokers at plant sites to aggregate, replicate and distribute traffic to the customer’s OT sensors. The solution eliminated blind spots and SPAN limitations, enabled 100% monitoring of OT traffic, reduced the number of sensor ports required (avoiding the cost of buying additional sensors), and optimized the customer’s existing OT security investments.
