KIOXIA Accelerates PDK Development by using Keysight Device Modeling Software

KIOXIA, a global flash memory manufacturer, faced tight timelines and rising complexity in developing Process Design Kits (PDKs) for high-speed NAND flash peripheral CMOS — needing predictive, accurate models before first silicon while accounting for RF behavior, noise and layout-dependent effects. To meet these challenges, KIOXIA turned to Keysight and its device modeling tools for an end-to-end solution.

Keysight provided an integrated PathWave toolchain (ADS, WaferPro/WPE, Model Builder/MBP, IC‑CAP, Model QA/MQA) plus the A‑LFNA noise analyzer to link TCAD, on‑wafer measurement and SPICE model generation via a DTCO workflow. Using Keysight’s solution KIOXIA cut measurement and iteration time, reduced modeling iterations substantially, improved long‑term prediction accuracy and achieved a 10X improvement in overall modeling efficiency.
