i3070 Inline ICT Improves Functional Test Yield of SSDs

SSD Manufacturing Company, facing growing demand for higher-volume, faster SSD production, needed to improve its PCBA functional test yield and reduce lengthy repair cycles caused by poor root-cause diagnosis. To address rising bone piles and low first-pass yields at the functional test station, the customer engaged Keysight and evaluated an inline ICT solution (Keysight i3070 Series 5 Inline ICT) to automate and speed up board testing without compromising quality.

Keysight worked with the customer and a fixture partner to deploy the i3070 Inline ICT, initially installing two systems and eventually expanding to 13 units that have tested more than 2 million panels. The Keysight solution delivered measurable gains: first-pass yields over 95%, false failures under 0.5%, a zero-damage record during use, and reduced repairs and handling incidents—resulting in higher throughput and shorter repair lead times.
