Government Agency needed to analyze large volumes of suspect network traffic while keeping tool and operational costs down. To step 100 Gbps of monitoring data down to 10 Gbps and remove irrelevant or duplicate traffic, they worked with Keysight, deploying Ixia solutions including the Vision ONE network packet broker (NPB), ATI Processor, and the AppStack and PacketStack feature sets as part of the Ixia Security Fabric.

Keysight implemented a three-stage filtering pipeline—initial IP/MAC filtering on Cisco Nexus switches, Vision ONE NPB for IP-range filtering plus deduplication and packet slicing, and ATI Processor application filtering—then load-balanced the cleaned 10 Gbps streams to existing Cisco FirePOWER appliances. The result was a reduction of monitored traffic from 100 Gbps to 10 Gbps, removal of duplicate traffic, a 35% increase in security tool efficiency, roughly $260K saved in additional tool costs, and an expected 2–3 year extension of the current tool set; the customer also noted faster filter setup using Vision ONE’s GUI.
