Cloud Visibility Overcomes Security Limitation of Turnkey Private Cloud

The National Defense Agency runs a secure, internet‑isolated Azure Stack private cloud but could not access virtual traffic packets, leaving its security tools unable to detect threats or ensure compliance. Keysight was engaged to address this visibility gap, deploying its CloudLens visibility solution—including hundreds of CloudLens classic vTaps and new vTap Sensors plus Vision Edge and Vision ONE network packet brokers—to capture virtual packets without hypervisor access.

Keysight’s implementation (hundreds of vTaps, twenty Vision Edge NPBs and dual Vision ONE NPBs) provided end‑to‑end packet access, edge aggregation, and in‑NPB pre‑processing and decryption to reduce tool load and speed analysis. As a result, the private cloud is no longer a critical security vulnerability: the agency now achieves faster threat identification and resolution and can deliver optimized traffic to its network and application monitoring solutions.
