Box Hill Institute’s Cyber Range Lab Arms Students with Industry-Ready Security Skills

Box Hill Institute, a leading Australian TAFE provider, needed to close a growing skills gap in cybersecurity by giving students access to comprehensive, real-time training and the ability to customize traffic and attack simulations for industry-relevant scenarios. To meet this challenge, Box Hill partnered with Keysight and adopted Keysight’s BreakingPoint (with support from the Keysight Application and Threat Intelligence database) to build an internet-scale cyber range and curriculum.

Keysight delivered a customizable cyber range centered on BreakingPoint plus next-generation firewalls, SIEM, forensics and incident-management tools, and daily threat updates via ATI. The result is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art lab that simulates a wide range of cyberthreats, provides authentic hands-on learning, and produces graduates with industry-valued skills—improving practical readiness and helping close the workforce gap for employers.
