Automation Enables Earlier Identification of Defects

Albertsons Companies Inc., one of the largest U.S. supermarket chains, needed to move from slow, manual testing of its point-of-sale (POS) and peripheral systems to an automated approach to protect revenue and improve the customer experience. To do this it engaged Keysight, using Keysight’s Eggplant AI-driven test automation (with partner IntelliQA) to eliminate device‑installed test agents and handle complex POS and fuel-pump scenarios securely.

Keysight implemented Eggplant intelligent automation to run thousands of scenarios across POS, pin pads and fuel pumps, enabling continuous defect hunting and freeing testers for exploratory work. The solution cut test execution time from nearly two weeks to a couple of days, automated about 500 retail POS regression cases, sped up validation of vendor code drops, reduced manual headcount needs, and improved rollout speed and reliability for Albertsons’ stores.
