Acceptance Testing Helps Mobile Network Operator Grab Early Leadership in 5G

Major Mobile Network Operator faced a tight timeline and rising complexity as it prepared to roll out commercial 5G while 3GPP conformance tests were still incomplete. To ensure device interoperability and meet RF, protocol, and RRM conformance requirements across FR1 and mmWave FR2, the operator partnered with Keysight and adopted Keysight’s Network Emulation Solutions—including the E7515B UXM 5G Wireless Test Platform and toolsets such as S8701A, S8704A and S8705A—to build a comprehensive acceptance-testing program.

Keysight delivered an integrated test system, test-case development, and lab support (plus supporting hardware like the E7770A, M1740A and a CATR OTA chamber) to validate devices against the operator’s network configuration; Keysight’s test cases were used on early commercial devices (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S10 5G) and for carrier acceptance testing. The result: the Major Mobile Network Operator launched 5G in spring 2019 and, with Keysight’s help, became the first operator to surpass 1 million 5G mobile subscribers within five months, while rolling out targeted 5G services such as smart factories and AR/VR.
