Small Town Hospitality Makes Key Access Fun, Simple, and Flexible for Its Guests

The customer, Small Town Hospitality, faced a challenge when the pandemic forced them to eliminate staffed front desks at their four boutique motels. Their initial contactless check-in system was labor-intensive, requiring housekeeping to be on-call for guest access. They needed a more convenient and automated key access solution and turned to vendor Keycafe for its SmartBox key management system.

Keycafe's solution allowed guests to retrieve their keys at any time using a code sent via text. This automated the check-in process, saving the company time and money while ensuring keys were tracked and secure. The result was a system both guests and staff found easy and fun to use. As a result of its success, Small Town Hospitality expanded to eight SmartBoxes across its properties and plans to add more for a fifth location.
