MoneySuperMarket drives smarter driving awareness with Kerve's epic mind-control car

MoneySuperMarket, a UK price comparison website, wanted to create an epic demonstration to promote the concept of smarter driving, which is used to calculate telematics-based insurance premiums. They tasked the digital production studio Kerve with developing a groundbreaking experiential campaign to get this message across in a memorable way.

Kerve developed a mind-controlled car by connecting an EEG headset to a robot-controlled BMW, turning brainwaves into steering commands. They created a competition to find a member of the public to test the car alongside journalists and celebrity Carol Vorderman, which involved a head-tilt controlled online game. The resulting video content was seeded to publications, supported by search advertising and SEO, and the campaign achieved widespread news coverage and award nominations from the Marketing Agencies Association and UK Search Awards.
