Burt’s Bees lets shoppers try 18 lipstick shades virtually with Kerve

Burt’s Bees, known for its natural ingredients, faced a challenge in promoting its new line of 18 lipstick shades: customers couldn't easily try on all the colors without the mess of repeated physical application. Their experiential agency, Clink Clink, partnered with the vendor Kerve to create an augmented reality solution for this.

Kerve built an interactive "Magic Mirror" using a touchscreen, live camera feed, and face-tracking technology. The system allowed users to virtually try on every shade, then capture and share photos or GIFs via email and a public gallery. This installation toured with make-up stations, enabling virtual trials that seamlessly led to sampling the physical products.
