Pennypinchers, a division of Steinbuild and long‑time user of Kerridge Commercial Systems, needed to speed up and improve accuracy of its stock receiving across branches in South Africa and Namibia. Using K8 software across its network, the retailer sought a more efficient way to confirm items and quantities at receipt and reduce manual errors that delayed getting goods to the shop floor.
Kerridge Commercial Systems implemented handheld scanners that connect via Wi‑Fi to a dedicated K8 client so scanned data updates K8 in real time; clerks scan deliveries and a second clerk confirms pricing before the GRN posts. KCS rolled out an average of two scanners per branch after pilot tests, and Pennypinchers reported faster receiving, fewer processing errors, improved stock management and more accurate sales processing with live updates between scanners and K8.
