A Kerridge Commercial Systems Case Study
Lawsons, a family-owned supplier of building materials operating 17 branches across London and the South East, needed to keep its core trading system modern, secure and efficient as the business grew. Facing high transaction volumes (K8 processes around 3,000 transactions a day and manages 8,000 customer accounts) and a desire to reduce paperwork and card-payment risk, Lawsons worked with Kerridge Commercial Systems to ensure year‑on‑year compliance, improved functionality and better operational control through an upgrade to K8.
Kerridge Commercial Systems delivered an upgrade to the latest K8 via K-Cloud with Oracle Dataguard for real‑time data replication, plus PCI-compliant chip-and-pin PODS, a new transport delivery management module and handheld devices for drivers. The result was faster production of management information (including daily branch profit reporting), tighter transaction security with fewer typing errors and quicker bank authorisations, reduced paperwork and instant delivery updates — all implemented smoothly for Lawsons’ 190 K8 users across 17 sites, with server failover available within minutes.
