Case Study: Haldane Fisher achieves tighter control and reduced working capital with Kerridge Commercial Systems (K8)

A Kerridge Commercial Systems Case Study

Preview of the Haldane Fisher Case Study

K8 has paid for itself through tighter control

Haldane Fisher, a family-owned distributor founded in 1946 with fifteen branches across Northern Ireland, England and the Isle of Man, faced fragmented IT after growth by acquisition: three separate, character-based systems (one at end-of-life) and limited functionality for its substantial timber importing, machining and exporting operation. The business needed an integrated package with strong nominal ledger links, better credit control and improved management information—requirements met by Kerridge Commercial Systems’ K8 solution.

Kerridge Commercial Systems project-managed the K8 implementation, providing business analysis, bespoke timber-related development, data import and train-the-trainer plus support. K8 is now used by more than 200 staff and delivered electronic document management, automatic debtor letters, cross-branch stock visibility, faster accounts reconciliations (replacing several days a month of manual work), reduced working capital and quicker decision-making—benefits Kerridge Commercial Systems helped achieve and which have paid for the system through tighter control.
