A Kerridge Commercial Systems Case Study
Alfred Franks and Bartlett, a UK importer-distributor established in 1918 with a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse in St Albans, faced challenges tracking complex import and landed costs and lacked full stock control and timely sales information. With products taking up to a month to arrive, AFB needed an integrated system to provide accurate, unit-level visibility and better costing to support purchasing and pricing decisions. Kerridge Commercial Systems was engaged to address these issues.
Kerridge Commercial Systems implemented K8 to deliver integrated landed-cost calculations, robust sales order processing, invoicing and accounting, and full stock visibility. The K8 rollout delivered measurable gains: true landed costs for accurate pricing, stock management improved by at least 50%, customer service levels up by at least 50%, faster order-to-invoice cycles, and time savings from integrated faxing — with further efficiency opportunities such as EDI noted by the company. Paul Candy, Finance Director, estimated the stock management and customer service improvements at "at least a 50% improvement."
